About jerry

Jerry Isenhart has kicked around the Lake Chelan Valley since 1969, when he arrived in Chelan, having just turned 25, to own & operate KOZI Radio. After selling KOZI in 1999, Isenhart took a 12 month vacation, and then launched one of the very first Community Web Sites in the nation, Go Lake Chelan. That was before Google, Facebook, GMail, Twitter, and a whole host of Social Media and 6 years before Apple introduced their IPHone, which revolutionized the Internet more than anything else. Isenhart sold that established web-site in 2014, and turned his attention to Aerial Photography via Quadcopters, and has an incredible library of stills and videos taken over the last few years, with new material being captured all the time. Chelan Cams is the obvious evolution of someone who is always out front, with technology and content. Stick around - Isenhart intends to use this site to give "perspective' on the valley, using camera images to speak the thousand words.

Ernie The Pilot and Great Stories From Lake Chelan’s Past

2019-01-19T20:23:39+00:00

Ernie The Pilot & Many Other Stories Of The PastFor many years, Ernie Gibson flew the waters of Lake Chelan as the owner of Chelan Airways. His legendary story is told in this video, produced by his son, Steve Gibson and good friend Malcolm Keithly. For anyone wanting to study the history of the valley, this is a 'must watch'. This video is about a lot more than the fascinating life of Ernie Gibson. While it centers around Ernie Gibson, much of the story is told by Claude Southwick,  another Lake Chelan chaaracter of the past, and by Hank [...]

A Last Look At The Old Bridge

2018-09-07T07:43:06+00:00

Updates To Old Bridge Finally Underway (9-5-2018) After years of cussing and discussing options to make the "Old Chelan River Bridge" safe for automobiles and pedestrians , the City of Chelan has officially begun a major project that will do just that. According the the City's Dedicated  Project Web-Site    the first week of construction, crews will be mobilizing equipment, surveying, removing a lamp, unloading water main pipe that will span the bridge, and then installing pipe hangers under the bridge. There will be short intermittent delays to bring vehicles and equipment into the area. A couple items will be most [...]

1920’s Highway Between Chelan & Wenatchee

2019-01-19T19:51:32+00:00

The Mid 1920's - The road along the Columbia River from Chelan -Entiat -  Wenatchee.  Earlier we indicated this might be from Orondo to Wenatchee. But we don't think so now. We think this photo shows the vehicle traveling south along the Columbia towards Wenatchee, with the railroad tracks to the right and then the river. The picture speaks to travel and transportation conditions in the 1920's; they were poor. A trip betwen Chelan and Wenatchee, no matter which side of the Columbia you traveled, was still or 4 or 5 hour adventure one way. This is the reason there once [...]

Lakeside Park 4-25-18

2018-05-12T20:20:14+00:00

Lakeside Park - Love The Great Sandy Beaches Lakeside Park is always extremely popular in the summer. It's that great shallow sandy beach surrounding the park that makes it a swimming favorite. This April 25th, 2018  flight over the park really shows just how shallow and sandy the beach-front really is when the lake is full at 1100 feet above sea level. Lake level on this date was 1087.75 , or just over 12 feet below full elevation. Information about Lake Chelan lake level is always available here

Lord Acres ~ May 2016

2018-04-20T10:52:30+00:00

Lord Acres - May 20, 2016 May 20th 2016 was a gorgeous sunny afternoon.  Lake Chelan was  glassy calm.  It wasn't that many years ago that all of Lord Acres was covered with apple, cherry and other fruit trees. Of  the several thousand feet of waterfront, most all of it was undeveloped. That would be changing - that was already changing in 2016. Plans for several developments back off the water at Lord Acres are already underway. What will the changes be by 2025. That's why we captured this video now.

Lakeside – May of 2016

2018-05-12T22:34:26+00:00

Spot The Changes Since 2016 It was May of 2016, a nice calm windless early early afternoon, the grass was turning green, the water blue and we made this gentle pass along the South Shore between Lakeside and Slidewaters  just to capture the moment.  As we expected then, "there was change coming" , and some of it has happened already. See if you can spot the changes.

A New Meaning to Cobalt Blue

2018-04-19T06:50:09+00:00

Photographer Duncan Jones shares with us this award winning photo taken about a mile downlake from Stehekin,  one glassy-calm day last year. Duncan and his parents, in their identical twin Cobalt boats, look like they just belong there.  And they sort of do. Lake Chelan has been in their blood for a long long time. In the background is Lucerne, and just over the ridge is Domke Lake, where the Jones family have visited annually almost since Duncan was born.  Those annual visits came to a tragic halt when Fire Storm 2014 completely devastated the Domke Lake Resort and Cabins [...]
