Downtown Chelan in 1930 This photo of Chelan, about 1930, is one of easily 30 different photos of this view that we've collected over the years. When we realize that Lakeside was once larger than the Town of Chelan, and Stehekin was, at one time, considered to be named as the County Seat, we begin to gain perspective.

The Sign You Saw From the Wagon As the sign says, turn left and your'e headed for Chelan Station , turn right and you'll cross the 'Old Bridge" to Chelan Falls. That sign was no longer correct when the new bridge to Chelan Falls was built in the 70's, and the old bridge was closed. Clearly the 'Old Bridge' to Chelan Falls wasn't safe, especially with a semi-loaded with fruit.
