A New Meaning to Cobalt Blue

2018-04-19T06:50:09+00:00

Photographer Duncan Jones shares with us this award winning photo taken about a mile downlake from Stehekin,  one glassy-calm day last year. Duncan and his parents, in their identical twin Cobalt boats, look like they just belong there.  And they sort of do. Lake Chelan has been in their blood for a long long time. In the background is Lucerne, and just over the ridge is Domke Lake, where the Jones family have visited annually almost since Duncan was born.  Those annual visits came to a tragic halt when Fire Storm 2014 completely devastated the Domke Lake Resort and Cabins [...]

Sunset Over The Valley

2018-04-18T05:48:51+00:00

A Solid Gold Sunset At Lake Chelan we get more than our share of awesome sunsets. It is moments like this that make 'hangin around ... camera in hand' so worthwhile.  We were in the right place at the right time. That happens a lot when you carry a camera and live at Lake Chelan. There's  so much harmony with nature to honor and celebrate in this special corner of the world. Our goal is to shine some light on the magic of our region.

The Winter of 2017-18

2018-04-18T06:03:04+00:00

The Winter of 2017-18 The winter of 2017-18 was longer than some in the recent past,  and we enjoyed more snow and more frequent snowfalls. And it was cold too. This temperature was about 12 degrees on  the afternoon  that we grabbed this view looking uplake. As we post this photo now, in April of 2018, our perspective is that Winter 2017-18 will go down as a good one for winter recreation.
